    Alliance: X-men

History: Katherine "Kitty" Anne Pryde was a thirteen-and-a-half year old girl living in Deerfield, Illinois, who led a normal life, but then began suffering headaches of steadily increasing frequency, duration, and intensity. Unknown to her or her parents, the headaches were a result of Kitty's mutant power emerging.
Professor Charles Xavier, located Kitty, with his device for finding superhuman mutants, Cerebro. Professor Xavier and three of the X-Men, Colossus, Storm, and Wolverine, set out for Deerfield to contact her and possibly enroll her into his school.
However, someone else had a similar idea… Emma Frost arrived at the household first, speaking with her parents. Kitty suffered one of the worst headaches she’d had before, and thus, went upstairs to sleep, once Emma left, the Professor showed up, and Kitty awoke, on the couch in the living room at that exact moment. Her blankets stuck in the ceiling above her…
Whereas Frost had left out the minor details of Kitty’s mutant status, Xavier was left with no choice but to explain it to her parents… and she soon found herself heading to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. There she learned how to better control the use of her powers.
She grew closer to the ones who had brought her in… and took the news of the Professor’s death the hardest. Which made her easy prey for Bobby Drake, who, already in a relationship of sorts with Rogue, went to ‘console’ her. Though she didn’t take to him as well as he’d have hoped, she viewed him as a much needed friend, and enjoyed going skating with him… But with the X-Men disbanding, scattered and lost… and Magneto attacking Alcatraz… she knew she had to shake all that off… she had to BE an X-Man…
When they enterred into the defense of the island, she sought to find the boy called Leech, who’s blood made up the cure itself… forcing her to deal with the unstoppable Juggernaut. As she phased through the building to escape him… he charged through the wall… instigating a terrifying chase as they scrambled to find the boy. Kitty, to save him, Juggernaut, to kill him. Once she reached Leech, she found that she couldn’t phase any more, as the Juggernaut smashed through the wall… and charged them… she shoved the boy out of the way and dove to the side as the Juggernaut hit the wall… and was knocked unconsious… his own power being sapped. She then escaped with Leech, letting the teachers figure out what to do with him. Since then, she’s become an active member of the X-men, and one of the first students to stand among their rank. She is currently a senior at the school.

    Mutant File

    Mutant Powers:
Phasing: Shadowcat possesses the ability to pass through solid matter and objects by passing her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she was moving. In this way she and the object through which she was passing could temporarily merge without interacting, and each was unharmed when Shadowcat had finished passing through the object in a state of intangability, likewise she can also make other people intangible as well, but she must maintain physical contact however, if she let’s go in midphase, they’ll become solid again. When in a phased state, elemental attacks (earth, water, fire, even air, electricity, and lightning) can pass through her as well as the more standard attacks of bullets, explosions, and physical impacts, rendering her practically untouchable.

Physical Distruption: When Kitty phases through electronics it causes them to short out, making working on computers especially difficult and frustrating when she’s in an emotional state.

Telepathic resistance: When phased, Kitty’s mind is incredibly erratic, as if there were no mind at all.

Air/Water Walking: Using her phasing/intangibility ability, Shadowcat can freely walk on both air and water. In fact, she could use her ability to walk on water and the air from the ground to the upper stories of a building as if she were climbing a staircase.

    Skills:

Dance Training: Storm introduced Kitty to a friend of her’s, Stevie Hunter, who worked with her already natural grace and agility, she still attends regularly, and is rather skilled.

Genius level computer expert: Kitty is a expert in the field of computer science, demonstrating genius-level aptitude for programming, modifying, and diagnosing almost any computer system: even those of unfamiliar human and extraterrestrial origin. She used her skills in many high-stress combat situations to great effect, and in combination with her mutant ability to disrupt electrical systems she was a formidable foe for any enemy relying on advanced technology.

Martial Arts training: Kitty is still learning, still starting belt in several different arts, which she wishes to learn under Logan’s tutelage.

    Weaknesses:
Phasing Limitations: Since she is unable to breathe while "inside" an object, she can only continuously phase through solid objects (as when she traveled underground) as long as she can hold her breath. Denser materials are more difficult for Kitty to phase through, sometimes causing her pain. Solidifying while in an object can cause serious injury if not death. As it is an active ability, if she can't see an attack coming, she can't phase through it.

Mystical vulnerability: When phasing mystical attacks can still harm her.

Family: Kate (maternal great-grandmother); Samuel Prydeman (paternal grandfather, deceased); Chava Rosanoff (paternal great-aunt, deceased); Mr. Rosanoff (paternal great-uncle, apparently deceased); Nina (aunt); Carmen Pryde (father, deceased); Theresa Pryde (mother); Kenny (cousin)

Anything else of note:Kitty has gone by several codnames, Sprite being her original, though later she adopted the name of Ariel… it wasn’t until more recently she’s gone by Shadowcat. Likewise, she’s referred to as Katya in Russian, and Katzchen in German. Though Logan tends to refer to her as Half-Pint.
